The Digital Government Authority announced the results of the Digital Transformation Measurement 2021 (Ninth Cycle), revealing that 45 government agencies reached the innovation and integration phases.
The report highlighted that the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization and the Ministry of Health reached the Creativity phase, in addition to 43 agencies reaching the Integration phase. The Qiyas aims to support government agencies in their digital transformation journey to achieve the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
His Excellency, the Authority’s Governor, Engineer Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, confirmed that the ninth Qiyas was conducted through several systematic phases and defined work mechanisms according to previously announced standards, noting that the total number of agencies included was 176, classified by the Authority into nine groups based on the services provided to beneficiaries.
H.E pointed out that these results reflect the Kingdom’s progress and global leadership in digital government services, which have been praised by leading international organizations, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes achieving second place in the Digital Competitiveness Index among G20 countries, reaching 98% readiness of government e-services according to the United Nations OSI Index, advancing nine places in the UN E-Government Development Index, and ranking third globally in internet penetration, among other indicators. H.E also commended the strong support that government agencies receive in their digital transformation journey from the wise leadership - may Allah support them.
The ninth cycle of the Digital Transformation Qiyas for government agencies comprised five phases: preparing and taking initial steps to advance in digital transformation areas; providing all related policies, standards, processes, and tools; developing and monitoring all aspects of digital transformation areas for continuous improvement and achieving beneficiary satisfaction; achieving internal integration within departments and external integration with other agencies; and presenting innovative and creative models in digital transformation areas by leveraging emerging technologies and modern trends in government digital transformation.
