A domain name is a series of letters, numbers and some special characters, which together represent a form legible and easy to remember. It is used to determine a website on the Internet which is used as a readable alternative from an IP address that is used effectively to identify sites.

Based on the Internet protocol and the currently used applications, it is almost impossible to publish a website that works normally without having a domain name.

The domain name under (sa) consists of two or three parts separated by dots, as follows:

NIC is committed to finalizing any application within three working days maximum, noting that the applications implementation rate takes one hour during the official working hours after receiving the request correctly and fulfilling all requirements and conditions.

The administrative contact must be authorized to speak and act on behalf of the registrant (the government agency) regarding registering domain names, and he may be, e.g., Director General or Manager of Information Technology Department. This person must be an employee of the agency requesting domain name (the registrant), and the same must be based in Saudi Arabia and be able to contact DGA and change any information related to the registered domain name. If the administrative contact left the work or was changed, DGA must be informed of name of the new administrative contact and his contact information according to the procedures set by DGA.

If the current administrative contact is responsive and his email registered with DGA can be accessed, (steps to modify the domain name information) can be used. In the event of a request to modify the administrative contact while it is unable to reach him or he does not respond, the procedure designated for this must be followed (updating the identity of the registrant and the administrative contact).

Yes, there is a specific mechanism for that regard, and its implementation may require sending a letter from the administrative contact of the website requesting domain deregistration with an explanation of the reasons for that. Information Technology Manager registered in the unified portal for electronic services (Raqmi) can take advantage of domain services. If it is not possible to register in the portal, you can communicate via [email protected]

Taking advantage of domain services is limited to government entities registered and activated on the unified portal for electronic services (Raqmi), where the leader of the government agency can add representatives of his agency through the unified portal for electronic services (Raqmi) and then they can take advantage of domain services.
