The Digital Government Authority organized the Digital Transformation Measurement 2022 “Tenth Edition” workshop virtually today, with the participation of 780 representatives from 218 government agencies in the Kingdom.

His Excellency, the Authority’s Governor, Engineer Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, stated that the digital transformation measurement is one of the key pillars of the strategic directions of the Kingdom’s digital government, aiming to position Saudi Arabia as a global leader in digital government, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. H.E pointed out that the Digital Transformation Basic Standards are based on several pillars, including building the digital government and implementing governance.

The workshop contributes to improving citizens’ quality of life, increasing their satisfaction, developing and facilitating the business environment, and enhancing government performance efficiency, with the goal of placing the Kingdom among the top 10 countries globally in digital government implementation by 2030. It also contributes to boosting Saudi Arabia’s GDP, strengthening the national economy, achieving excellence in the quality and speed of digital service delivery, and attaining global leadership in international indicators.

The workshop highlighted the "tenth Qiyas cycle" to continue previous measurements and keep pace with digital transformation developments, contributing to a qualitative leap in the measurement process and helping government agencies showcase their efforts in achieving higher excellence in the digital transformation journey. This included the shift from measuring maturity to measuring compliance through the extent of government agencies’ adherence to regulations, legislations, and digital transformation standards. It also involved developing digital transformation indicators to serve as compliance standards and enhancing requirements and guidelines to achieve compliance for each standard.

H.E called on the partners of the Digital Government Authority from government agencies to intensify efforts to complete the digital transformation phases and to take the initiative in proposing and developing innovative solutions that ensure further advancement in the digital transformation arena, aiming to achieve the Kingdom’s desired goals, while expressing the Authority’s appreciation for the significant efforts made by these agencies.

H.E pointed out that the Authority will continue, during the tenth Qiyas cycle, to assess the current state and development of digital services provided by government agencies in order to improve them, advance them through successive phases toward digital innovation, and enhance their accessibility for beneficiaries.

It is worth noting that the Authority’s tasks and responsibilities include approving policies related to its activities, as well as the plans and programs necessary for their implementation, proposing relevant draft regulations, participating in the preparation of national digital government strategies, supervising their implementation, and monitoring compliance. Additionally, the Authority coordinates with concerned entities to organize digital government operations, platforms, websites, and services, as well as government networks and the unified national portal. This includes developing plans, programs, indicators, and measures related to digital government work, shared government digital services, digital trust services within government agencies, the digital marketplace platform, and the management, operation, and projects associated with them, and ensuring their dissemination to relevant entities and monitoring adherence.
