The Digital Government Authority issued the Technical Guideline for Vendor Classification in ICT Sector, aiming to raise awareness among private sector vendors about the classification process, and provide information on how to apply for the technical classification through Digital Government Cluster (DGC) portal, including the procedures, evaluation process, and technical guidelines. The Guideline aims to promote ICT vendors’ compliance with the Digital Government Authority’s regulations in this respect, and to align the National Classification of Economic Activities (ISIC4) with the Digital Classification of Government Procurement.

The Guideline provided key guidance on the technical classification of ICT vendors, besides the main steps to be followed by the vendors. It also focused on digital government solutions and services provided by ICT vendors to the government agencies on high-value chains, such as: research, development, innovation, implementation and integration services.
The Guideline included the following sections: the purpose, scope, target audience, and the main structure of Guideline including (classification journey, registration instructions, qualification, vendor classification and certification, updating and renewal of the classification certificate), in addition to the definitions part. It concluded with an appendix that includes: (Alignment of the National Classification for Economic Activities (ISIC4) with the Digital Classification of Government Procurement, the classification journey and a flowchart).
