The Digital Government Authority (DGA) organized the GovJam Government Innovation Challenge Workshop to support startups and enable them to develop innovative digital solutions applicable within government agencies. The workshop was held with the participation of 15 startups, in collaboration with five strategic partners: the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), the Digital Entrepreneurship Center (CODE), Monsha’at, GIE, and Groq. It took place over two consecutive days at the Innovation Hub at the Authority’s headquarters.
The workshop aims to create supportive opportunities for government innovation that contribute to positive societal impact, through the implementation of innovative projects across specialized tracks led by the Innovation Hub. The Hub provides integrated support to participants, including specialized programs to accelerate project development, technical expertise to guide companies in both technical and practical aspects, as well as technical and financial enablers to facilitate the development of applicable solutions. In addition, the initiative promotes direct collaboration with government agencies to ensure the relevance and applicability of the solutions.
The challenge offers comprehensive support to startups through four main pillars: specialized mentorship, technical support, pilot implementation, and the adoption of innovative solutions by government agencies. The challenge programs are based on an advanced methodology that ensures a comprehensive 360-degree assessment of technical readiness, the development of clear implementation plans to enhance execution and adoption, and a strong focus on accelerating solution readiness while improving the quality and efficiency of government services.
This comes as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to support innovators and entrepreneurs and to foster an enabling environment for innovation that contributes to improving quality of life and strengthening national digital competitiveness. The challenge also provides participants with opportunities for learning and development under the guidance of experts, in addition to networking and building relationships within the digital innovation ecosystem.
