H.E. Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, the Governor of Digital Government Authority, indicated that the Digital Inclusion Program seeks to facilitate the access of people with disabilities and the elderly to services and their interaction with them through several initiatives, including: issuing digital accessibility standards, following up on compliance with them through the "Digital Experience Maturity Index" for digital platforms, and launching the Digital Inclusion Lab to test the readiness of assistive technologies to improve access, in addition to providing special services through "Amer" Center, launching the digital skills training program (Digital Skills) with an awareness track and another for practitioners, and adding a new category within the Digital Government Award categories to motivate government agencies to implement the concept of digital inclusion.
It is noteworthy that a number of government agencies have made several efforts to facilitate access to their services for people with disabilities and the elderly, and the most prominent government success stories in the field of digital inclusion include: "Taqdeer" service launched by the Ministry of Interior, and the mobile notary public service launched by the Ministry of Justice, in addition to the artificial intelligence application launched by the Ministry of Tourism, "Mowaamah" program of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, and the video communication service launched by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, to ensure that they keep pace with the requirements of the times and easily integrate into a society that provides them with equal opportunities and active participation.
The Digital Government Authority issued a digital inclusion guideline; with the aim of enabling government agencies to adopt the concept of digital inclusion, and increasing the use of government services by people with disabilities and the elderly in an independent and secure manner that ensures the preservation of the privacy of information and data.
The Digital Government Authority and its government partners are working to humanize the digital services provided, through alignment and compliance with digital accessibility standards, and creating platforms that keep pace with the needs of people with disabilities and the elderly and ensure that they benefit greatly from government services in an accessible form.
