The Digital Government Authority (DGA) launched the Website and Digital Content Efficiency Index 2024, an annual index that measures the efficiency and performance of government websites; the quality of their digital content; in order to make these websites reliable sources with high efficiency that promote Saudi achievements and initiatives locally and globally.

DGA explained that the index measures the performance of government websites according to two main perspectives: technical efficiency and content quality. Under each perspective, there is a set of themes containing sub-criteria by which the websites are measured. The Website and Digital Content Efficiency Index is considered the "Fourth National Index" within the framework of supporting the government's digital transformation journey and enhancing the national identity on global search engines.

The index enhances the efficiency of government websites and the quality of their digital content. It also enables government agencies to know the efficiency level of their websites, identify the areas that need improvement, and share national success stories to maximize the benefits of their experiences and business models.

The Website and Digital Content Efficiency Index aims to keep pace with the latest trends in improving global search engines, in addition to supporting content managers in government agencies to prepare valuable content for the target audience that is easily accessible and suitable for all age groups.

This comes as part of the efforts of the Digital Government Authority to develop the digital infrastructure of government agencies, and improve the efficiency of websites and e-portals, in order to reach government websites that can compete to appear among the top results on global search engines, and become the official sources for information and news. This is in line with the Authority's efforts, in partnership with government agencies, to achieve the targets of Saudi Vision 2030.
