H.E. Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, the Governor of Digital Government Authority, and his accompanying delegation have concluded their visits to the Republic of Estonia and the Kingdom of Denmark, where they held several meetings on bilateral cooperation and expertise exchange in digital government.
During the visit to Estonia, H.E.Eng. Alsuwaiyan held meetings with H.E. Mr. Taavi Rõivas, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Mr. Luukas Ilves, the Chief Information Officer of the Estonian Government, Mrs. Nele Leosk. the Digital Ambassador of Estonia, Mrs. Sandra Saraf, the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Estonia, and Mr. Margus Noorma, the Director General of the Information Systems Authority.
H.E. Eng. Alsuwaiyan visited the Estonian Parliament, where he met with Mr. Andres Sutt, the former Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology of the Republic of Estonia and a member of parliament. He also visited Tallinn University and the International Research and Development Center to explore prominent programs and research related to smart cities and innovation. Furthermore, he held a series of meetings with several CEOs of technology companies in Estonia with the aim of discussing the enhancement of strategic partnership in the field of digital government.
Upon visiting Denmark, the visit included the Digital Government and Gender Equality, the Digital Government Agency, the Danish Digital Centre, and the Ministry of Finance. In addition, H.E. Eng. Alsuwaiyan had meetings with a group of companies.
This visit comes within the efforts of the Digital Government Authority to promote partnerships and international presence. And It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia ranked third globally among (198) countries according to the data of GOVTECH Maturity Index issued by the World Bank and ranked first regionally in the GEMS index issued by ESCWA, as well as achieved its highest historical result in the E-Government Development Index issued by the United Nations since its launch more than 20 years ago
