The Digital Government Authority issued a guideline to support the adoption of free and open source software, and to enhance opportunities for reproducing software and source code. This guideline will contribute to raising the level of cooperation and the possibility of integrating software from several sources.

The guideline aims to define the technical rules for reference architecture practices, provide a unified reference for accessing software, and present the mechanism for selecting open source software. Further, it explains the methodology for adopting free and open source software, as it works to raise the level of integration and cooperation and standardize software selection standards. In addition, it sets the rules for organizing government software, and accelerate the development and disseminate the free and open source software.

This guideline reflects the Digital Government Authority’s role in enhancing the quality of digital services provided by government agencies, to be provided in line with the Authority’s strategic directions and the international best practices in various fields related to digital government.
