The Digital Government Authority has launched Business Continuity Management Standards to enhance the flexibility of government and private agencies’ response to any outage incidents they face and enable them to restore their priority products and services in an effective and efficient manner that ensures continuity of service provision and enhances the capacity of the technical infrastructure in the Kingdom to respond and recover from disasters and raise its resilience.
Business Continuity Management Standards work to reduce the possibility or impact of interruptions to services, prepare for, respond to and recover from interruptions, continuity of services and major operations, continuity of the supply chain, raising the level of integration between government agencies, enhancing resilience at the national level, in addition to ensuring the commitment of government agencies, suppliers, and operators of digital government services in implementing and maintaining an effective management system that provides the necessary capabilities to keep the work-flow while facing any interruption, as well as comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
The Business Continuity Management Standards come within the efforts made by the DGA to support the digital infrastructure in the Kingdom and mitigate the damage that might be caused by disasters or various malfunctions, as well as enabling government agencies in the Kingdom to provide digital services that meet the needs of beneficiaries at any time and from anywhere.
