The Digital Government Authority (DGA), on Thursday, January 5, 2023, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs & Housing and the Council of Saudi Chambers, organized a workshop for contractors in the communications and IT sector; to introduce the new technical classification. A number of private sector companies operating in the sector attended the workshop. During the workshop, the new technical classification and its criteria, requirements for obtaining the same, and application procedures were reviewed.

The new technical classification seeks to show the contractor's ability to provide digital solutions and services through the value chain. Further, the new technical classification will contribute to achieving sustainability, ensuring quality, raising investment efficiency, enhancing joint work between the public and private sectors, and improving the financial planning for procurement and digital government investment.
