The Digital Government Authority signed a memorandum of cooperation with the General Authority for Competition in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, and His Excellency, is the CEO of the General Authority for Competition, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zoom, in Riyadh.
The Authority was represented in signing the MOC by the Deputy Governor for the Digital Regulation and Trust Sector, Eng. Fares Al Ribdi, while the General Authority for Competition was represented by the Executive Vice President for Legal Affairs, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Obaid.
The MOC aims to exchange experiences between both parties and conduct joint studies and reports that contribute to protecting fair competition in the government digital services market and enhance the attractiveness of investment in the digital sector by creating the appropriate environment for doing business, which is reflected in the quality and prices of digital services, in addition to making data and information available between both parties to do everything that would contribute to enhancing competition in the digital sector to enable both parties to implement their competencies to achieve common goals by improving the competitive environment of digital government business.
Such MOC emphasizes the importance of cooperation, integration, and combined efforts between both parties in order to achieve the public interest in a way that enhances the effectiveness of oversight and regulation of markets to ensure the establishment of fair competition rules for the digital government services market and digital trust and identity services, which contributes to achieving the goals of Vision 2030.
