H.E. Eng. Ahmed Bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan, the Governor of Digital Government Authority (DGA), during his participation in Hajj Expo 2023;, stressed the importance of planning for innovation in creating a future digital vision to provide quality services by integrating with partners, and enriching the experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
This came during H.E.'s participation in a main discussion panel titled "Planning for Innovation, a Future Vision for Hajj Digital Services” within the work of the Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition 2023, during the period between January 9 and January 12, which was held in Jeddah under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Makkah Province Governor, and organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
During the discussion panel, H.E. the Governor indicated that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah launched, during the Digital Government Forum (DGF), last November, "Nusuk" platform, which aims to provide 121 various services to facilitate the procedures for the arrival of pilgrims from all over the world.
Further, H.E. visited a number of government agencies in Makkah Province and Jeddah governorate, in order to view the most prominent integrated efforts to enhance the digital experience provided to beneficiaries in accordance with DG strategic directions in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia ranked third in the GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI) for the year 2022.
The importance of planning for innovation lies in creating a future digital vision to provide quality services to the pilgrims.
We aim to improve Hajj and Umrah experience by developing more than 5 journeys that serve several categories.
One of DGA priorities is to integrate platforms and shift from 36 platforms in the Hajj sector to "Nusuk" platform.
Issuing more than 750,000 Umrah visas for individual pilgrims within less than (60) days since the beginning of this year.
Nusuk platform provides 121 various services between the business sector and individuals to serve nearly 30 million people.
"Makkah Road" Initiative is a historic development in the Hajj and Umrah journey, as it saved time and effort for pilgrims and Umrah performers by using AI techniques.
Nusuk platform, which was launched in November 2022, has achieved integration between more than 50 government agencies, 10,000 business sector, and thousands of service providers.
